tuesday bluesday

Now that I'm clear, I can't really call it bluesday.

I've been having heart palpitations. I ignored them, but they've been increasing quite a bit the last several days to the point where it feels near continuous sometimes. I had an EKG, a ten second test that didn't, of course, capture any of the premature beats that the doc diagnosed me with. On a plus side, my blood pressure is normal, and the premature beats are not really that big of a deal.

Except I should cut back on my coffee.

Feh. Why don't they just cut out my heart?

Dear Heart,

I promise not to feed us any coffee at lunch time at work. I promise to only drink one french press full of coffee a day, two on Saturdays, max.

Maybe I should cut back on cocaine too. Just kidding. On cocaine at all. Maybe I shouldn't joke about that on the internet. Ask me in real life how I feel about cocaine, the douchebaggery associated with it, the socioeconomics and punishment of coke VS crack, et cetera.

AFK for coffee. Come on, I'll cut back tomorrow!

(really, I am just on my second cup of coffee so far).

Spoken like a true caffeine addict. And I should know, I am one myself. Yes, I have had EKG done too and it wasn't until I quit drinking coffee that my heart palpitations went away. Since I am pregnant, I haven't been drinking it (if it messes with my heart, what does it do to the baby?). But when I do get a little bit of caffeine (we addicts know how to slip it in), my heart beats like a marching drum band and then I know... it is the coffee that makes my heart shake like a rag doll.

Hang in there....

My fiance was talking about a recent study about caffeine and pregnancy. Drumroll please.............
It's a bad idea. There have been lots of studies about low birth rate and increased risk of miscarriage, but also increased risk of attention deficit disorders and trouble concentrating...
